I have only met Dr Kirkpatrick on one occasion . She is a professional consultant with excellent communication . I was seen and treated very speedily , with kindness and respect from all members of the breast care team . The service provided is excellent and I cannot fault it. I work for the NHS myself , and I can honestly say that the L+D breast Care service makes me appreciate how lucky we are in this country to still have an NHS .

I have been in Miss Kirkpatrick's care since 2013 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I have seen Katharine annually since that time for an annual check-up. I cannot praise Katharine highly enough. She is professional and highly skilled, but also is very approachable, caring and kind. Essentially, nothing is too much trouble. She doesn't blind you with medical jargon and explains things in a very compassionate and honest way. I would have no hesitation in recommending Katharine - you are in a safe, caring and highly-skilled pair of hands. What an asset to both the L&D and Spires Harpenden. With huge thanks and gratitude.

Luckily my mammogram and ultrasound were clear. The entire breast clinic at the L&D is a credit to the nhs and is what the nhs should aspire to be. Before I even sat down dr. Kirkpatrick told me that the mammogram was clear. No nonsense and I was very grateful for the professionalism of all the staff at the breast clinic. Being able to walk away knowing there was nothing wrong without having to wait a few days for results was priceless. I am also indebited to the staff for working on a Saturday. You are all heroes. Thank you! If only it was as easy to get into my GP !

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in January 2018 and have been in the care of Miss Kirkpatrick since then. When Miss Kirkpatrick gave me the devastating news I knew at that moment that I was in safe hands, she advised that there were very good treatments to fight breast cancer – she also told me that she would have to make me feel worse before I would feel better. I started chemotherapy in February and had surgery in July to take out the cancerous tumour and my lymph nodes, followed by Radiotherapy. I felt very safe in her hands and she did an amazing job. She is always available to discuss what is going to happen next and nothing is too much trouble. I am due this month to have further symmetry surgery and again feel very at ease knowing that Miss Kirkpatrick will be carrying out this procedure. Being told you have Breast Cancer is never easy, but having a Surgeon who you feel comfortable with and instils confidence is a blessing. I cannot recommend Miss Kirkpatrick enough.
